Survey of African Game Developers

Only 19% of respondents have ever secured external investment in their past projects. Of those companies, 57% raised less than US$100,000.

80% identified a significant shortfall when it comes to industry associations, which play a key role in advocacy and creating a strong collaborative fabric, and almost all respondents flagged a lack of support from their government.

60% estimated that the power supply is poor or really poor. At the same time, 57% indicated that access to the internet is not affordable from where they connect and work.

52% indicated that the entirety of their income originated from within their country of residence.
